The Maldivian tennis team participating in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) has left for Nepal on the 27th of November 2019.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 1 December, while team events gets underway on 2nd December followed by individual events on 5th December.
Seven member countries will be participating in the tournament, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The tournment is hosted by Napal and the games will be played in Kathmandu and Pokhara from December 1 to December 10. 27 games, including tennis, will be played in this iteration of the games.
The Maldivian Team consists of 4 men and 4 women players as follows:
All the tennis tournaments will be played in the Satdobato region (as per latest information), at the Satdobato Tennis Complex courts which is home to the All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA). The regions at the moment is in the midst of winter which brings temperatures varying between 8-18 degrees. A chilly affair for us Maldivians who are used to taking the heat. Hope our players can also take the chill in this instance.
