18th April 2017- TAM has announced the juniour tennis team participating in the Regional Qualifying event of ITF Asian 12 & Under Team Competition which will be held from 15th -19th May 2017 in Kathmandu,Nepal. The Maldives team comprises 3 boys and 3 girls namely,

The team is coached by Ahmed Akram .
In the first stage, the 12 &Under Team Championships would incorporate regional qualifying competition for all the five regions in Asia, based on the already existing bifurcation of nations in the continent. Teams will play the first round of qualifying competition with in their respective regions, and the top performing teams from these qualifying competitions would secure their place in the finals of the 12&Under Team Championships. The Finals of the ITF 12&Under Team Championships will be held in Kazakhstan towards the end of the year.
Altogether 7 countries have been invited to take part in the South Asian qualfying event including India, Sri lanka, Parkistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. Two countries from South Asian would qualify to participate in the Final event.
